About the artist
Sylvester Buhl is a figurative painter who uses saturated colors and explorative textures in order to convey the sensual experience of being human.
Born in 1998, his journey of creating began in the rolling hills of the historic coastal town of Ebeltoft, Denmark. After practicing with his mother’s old paint tubes during his teens, he decided to pursue higher artistic training in 2022 and moved to Mölndal, Sweden, where he still lives and works. Fascinated by the craftmanship behind making a quality piece of art and the experience of creating a portrait, Sylvester explores the subtleness of human form and the essence of likeness in conversations with the subject.
His works are characterized by a playful discovering of that hidden thing which binds us all; indescribable, yet ever present.
